Update on getting banned to hell group / solo.

Hi

Yesterday, in a somewhat "enthusiastic" topic Ed posted that he would post back with a detailed report on what is deemed acceptable behaviour and what is considered exploitative/offensive and at risk of banning.

I was just wondering if anyone from FD ever followed through with this (the thread in question was locked).

I am not looking for another argument, and not looking to name and shame, but would just like to know what FD think of as acceptable game play or unacceptable game play.

and also what the "punishments" for breaking these boundaries are. (lifetime account bans from ALL, timed account bans from ALL, CMDR bans from ALL or a combination).

Once this is published it means I can evaluate if some of the activities which I personally consider to be unacceptable and have forced me out of ALL ARE actually unacceptable, or if it is me who personally needs a reality check on the mechanics of the game and that the game is currently working as intended in terms of criminality and risk reward (for the most part).

Many thanks

Mike.

As was stated in the other thread, FD intend to follow up with a "proper policy". Those things don't write themselves overnight, and it's very possible that it has legal implications which have to be checked. I'd give that at least a week or so to mature.

ahh ok, sorry I read it like they were almost ready to respond last night.... possibly my mistake. I asked incase they HAD already responded and i missed it!.

@sneakyfrog, sorry if i was vague, those who followed the thread regarding a player getting banned then reinstated later in the day will know what I am on about. :)

I'd have hoped that such things were written long before having to "ban" anyone! :D

I think he was checking whether anyone at FD had actually taken any action, not conferring with lawyers or writing policy.

Is there a link to this or just your word on it?

Maybe they'd hoped that it wouldn't be necessary.
(Given experience with how people behave in any other game out there that would be a lost cause if ever I saw one)

Mods are human and prone to funny error like the friend of mine who had AMFU removed from a post because of masked swearing. Turns out it's the acronym for Auto Maintenance Field Unit.

So, maybe the mod is wrong, maybe the mod is right. I doubt the mod is malicious.

Seeing as the Op has his answer (Soon tm) I'll close this to avoid a repeat of the first thread. Thanks for understanding.
