Update to Guardians for Oculus Horizons / Commander Deluxe Edition?

Hi All,

A bit confused but I'm sure someone can help me quite easily....

Up until recently I ran ED on a DK2 directly so, started the launcher and the clicked the big Start button which became an Upgrade button when there was an update. However since recently starting to play on a CV1 I went the route of getting the code and installing the Commander Deluxe Edition via the Oculus store. All good, however it leaves me a bit confused on how to get updates...?

If I launch via the Oculus Store there is nothing in "Updates", but if I bring up the Standalone Launcher (which I never use anymore), it shows that there is an "Upgrade". Am I supposed to do the upgrade/update this way (will it work, or will it break ED), or do I wait until they release an official upgrade via the Oculus Store?

My guess would be that, by adding ED to Oculus Home, you've now got two entire installations of ED on your PC. I've no idea how you go about updating the Oculus one tho. Maybe it does it automatically? (maybe already done?).

Incidentally, I'm curious, why did you install it under Oculus? Was it just so you could launch the game from inside the Oculus Home screen?

Yeah you'll have two installations, I had the same when I played through Steam and the installed the launcher directly to access Beta.

Subsequently I uninstalled the non Steam version and then put a shortcut to the launcher from the Steam folder on my Desktop, I use that whenever I want to play Beta (if there's a release for example)

Oculus keeps your game up to date so you don't get the upgrade button. Same as Steam, FD can have notoriously slow downloads so I quite like that team keeps it patched for me.
