shouldn't I be on alpha 4.03 and be able to do more interesting stuff as below?

Welcome to the forum commander .... I am assuming you brought into Premium Beta, in which case you will be able to download the Beta sometime during Friday 30th May (uk) 2 days time

Alpha 4 is for alpha players only. Premium Beta has access to Alpha 1.1. Why should it be different I wonder?

As mentioned there are currently 2 stages of access to the game build.

The early Alpha build was opened to Premium Beta players recently with the Alpha designation 1.1 (IIFK)

On the 30th this will probably change, at the moment FD have not detailed exactly what will happen but I'm sure info will start to come through soon.
