Guide / Tutorial UPDATED : List of Materials at DAV'S Hope(Pictorial)

Ah Yes. Mobius. The PG that has been invaded and is now pretty much like playing in open. You meet another actual human player and you need to immediately set battle stations.

Really? I haven't had the displeasure of this yet... You are aware that any player doing PvP in Mobius will be kicked out, so their fun would be very short lived.

I've heard that Open is perfectly safe nowadays though, and that PvP is going to be the norm in Solo according to another 'well informed' and very vocal poster...

I was at Dav's yesterday (in Live) and material drops appear to have changed recently - and there is a continuous 'patrol', usually an Orca and another ship - they just patrol, not interact... Although I didn't pick up any Chemical Distilleries (my 'needed' mats) there were still a good proportion of good mats to be found. Also a nice place to gather more common elements with the SRV too.

Bovine doo-doo.

You do get the occasional twit sneak in and do murder but you are rather exaggerating the situation.

Just talking about what I have read on several different forums. Many long time Mobius people being reduced to nothing but the free sidewinder and the "twits" (actually organized gangs of sometimes 10 or more) posting/streaming the videos of their "kills" (EXECUTIONS) while the "twits" fans cheered them on for making the game more like "real life on the streets".

Yes, supposedly Frontier has taken some action but so far, last time I looked at this, there have not yet been any LIFETIME BANS of any of the "twits". They get booted and they come right back. And YES, supposedly there is a mechanism now where an individual can get Frontier to restore some stuff.

But, enough of this. I will continue to work on recruiting actual friends that I actually know in person to join a PG to play together.

Public Access Data Point also resets each time you return

First, Thank you so much for all the effort above in documenting the Dav's Hope layout and process for getting optimal delivery of useful products at the site.

I would just like to point out that the Data Point next the the Dav's Hope metal arch is also yielding new, random, data packages each time that it is activated (made to rise up, and then scanned using the turret). This small added bonus helps with the Data Traders to get the products necessary for your current blue prints with the Engineers, and may save a trip to the Jameson Crash Site.

Also, logging alternately into a Private Group is not necessary (at least in the patched version of 3.3 on PC). Relogging into Solo is sufficient to respawn the mechanical materials and the new data at the elevated Data Point.

Hoping this helps you to help everyone who comes to you for help. ;-)

See you in The Dark.

E.Tea

How are people collecting the data-point-on-a-stick? I try to jumpjet and hover but it's a little challenging. Looking for a better way to farm that extra bit.

Cheers!

Talking of getting stuck here at Davs Hope, I thought I would be good to do a low pass down Main Street at Davs hope In My Asp Ex with gear down, land just the other side of the sign over the entrance them my SRV would be straight into town. Then passed too low and managed to get it stuck on the aerial that sticks out about the sign over the entrance. Couldn’t move back or forward felt like a right pri??k good job I was in solo I thought or someone would be here to photo it no doubt. After about 5 mins of thrusting back and like a whale stuck on a beach with no joy. I pulled the gear up and hey presto I came loose. Quickly landed as if nothing had happened. LOL

Manufactured Dav's Hope.jpg

Here is a list of all components found at Dav's Hope arranged on a quick fashion in order to exchange at a material trader, closest one being Vaucanson Gateway at HIP 12067. Made it easier to exchange and go back to continue farming.

Had the pleasure tonight. Arrived in open, one other CMDR in local. Materials gone when I arrived at the settlement.

Within minutes I got stuck at a lamp post. Luckily, two other CMDRs just appeared. With the combined force of their SRVs they managed to push me out.

Therefore:

Yes, if you relog in open, probably someone else has already picked up the materials (you can, however, still scan the data point).
BUT: you should relog into open every few minutes - your help to push somebody else out of a trap might be appreciated.

And, there might be Commanders who will lift you up on the back of their ships, so you can jump down from the skies. This is actually the most important thing about places like Dav's Hope (although watching limpet golf at Jameson's crash site wasn't bad either).
