Updates In Between DLCs Is Key Going Forward

the best thing would be for them to implement the 3D import of self made objects like planet coaster. i dont understand how they were able to develop it for the end of PC's lifecycle but were not able to give it to us in PZ right away from release (because money and dlc of course).

Most probably because the performance of the game is hammered because most of the self made objects aren't completely optimized before they are imported.
Although I like the TMT, I didn't believe it was beneficial for the performance of the game.

Maybe they aren't happy with the way it turned out (there where plenty of complains) and performed and thus have delayed the release for Planet Zoo? Or they aren't planning to release the TMT for Planet Zoo? Or they are working on something newer/better?

Frontier can do what all the other devs who allow modding do and say they will not provide support for mods.
That's exactly the current situation lmao, They exist and arent banned or blocked or anything and our little section of the community is going well but just not supported or endorsed. It does make progress on modding kinda slow but knowing how the game works, I couldn't possibly expect them to add mod support to the engine at the moment. the game code is really complicated and wasn't developed for that

to me its pretty obvious they holding it back untill all the DLC is out. i really dislike that, but i can understand it.

OMG, you guys are absolutely right! I too want them to do as they did with Planet Coaster and release 12 DLCs for the low, low price of $143 plus tax!

But seriously. Maybe I'm just from the old school of gaming, because when I was a kid, games had maybe one or two nice polished DLCs full of juicy content that didn't break the bank. That's changed for the worse. Now nearly every game gets 10+ overpriced DLCs. And it's not just Frontier doing it. I mean, look at Sims 4. Does anyone really want to pay $600+ dollars for all the extra content they've put out over the years? It's ridiculous. Even if you just wanted a 1/4 of the DLCs, it would still cost you $200+. I miss the days when a polished game full of good content was released, with one or two DLC, and that was it. And it was enough. Look how long Zoo Tycoon 1 kept going after the devs abandoned it. Because they allowed mods and didn't try to milk their customers for their last red cent by releasing 20 expensive and poorly conceptualized DLCs after the fact.
EA is WAY worse than Frontier has ever been and hopefully will ever be. Sims 4 isn't a good comparison.

In my opinion, right now, June 20, 2020, Planet Zoo is extremely dry in content. While, yes I do understand that there was and still partially is a pandemic, but they have shown they can put out content during these times. The whole “every three months a new dlc” thing isn’t going to work forever in my opinion. The game needs just a little juice in between packs to keep the creativity flowing. These small updates, obviously free, may just include some new building pieces and doesn’t even need to be an animal. I will be totally fine with just that. The game just needs something to keep me hooked.
Perhaps a "mini" pack in months without the normal packs. An animal that's more of a reskinned option (say a Nile Crocodile...or even a bit more out there and go with a something like a dwarf caiman), have a couple things specifically tied to them such as enrichment and info boards, and something like event decor for something in the month (like an October one having a few pieces for Halloween), and a couple smaller animals for exhibits. A $3.99 US or have it an or thing between the bigger animal and a couple exhibit ones for $1.99...
