Updates to Elite dangerous on PS4

How do I get updates on PS4?

Hi there Commander Braveswordz!

To check for an update, scroll to the ELITE game tile on the PS4 dashboard and click the ‘Options’ button on the DualShock controller.

You’ll see an option about half way down on the right of the screen to ‘check for update’ click this and it will let you know if the game is up-to-date.

Ah thanks yes I see it is up to date. I was seeing stuff about Mk4 ships now being available etc.

While you are here.... perhaps you could tell me where I need to ho to buy an Anaconda when I have snuff credits? I must still be in newbie areas.
Thanks

There are many places within the bubble where you can Purchase an Anaconda.

Here’s a small example of stations selling them:

Have a look on the ELITE Wiki if you need to.

There are also various other web tools that can aid you in exploration, trade, discoveries e.g. EDDB, Cannon etc.

Purely my opinion, but I'd recommend against getting an Anaconda, for a little while at least. They're harder to fly effectively than the smaller ships and they only really shine once you've got some engineers unlocked.

May I suggest a Krait mk2 if you like combat, a Python if you're into trading/mining or a Krait Phantom if you want to go exploring. Just until you get used to the size difference.

I’ve been a PS4 ELITE’r since release, the biggest ships I currently have are my G5 rated Python and a mining Krait MKII.

I’m having so much fun and not particularly interested in the big ones yet. I have about 400 million in credits and intend to slowly grind towards my first Billion.

I love the Python:

Well thanks to everyone for your helpful responses. I take your point about size of ships particularly as I do a bit of mining. Need a bit more cargo space than the 40 I have with my Cobra MK III. I have found a station selling Anacondas Voss dock in LALANDE 37120 but will look for the others you mention. I think it's those I haven't seen anywhere. Thanks again.

Please don't jump from a Cobra to an Anaconda. Everytime someone posts a sad thread about dying in their brand new unengineered Conda a baby reindeer dies. If you're having trouble finding a better ship, there are some decent online tools. I use Inara for most things - easy to have open on tablet while playing.

PS if you're looking for a nice upgrade for mining from the Cobra, this is my preferred choice: https://s.orbis.zone/3tcp
It's got enough cargo for core mining (for me), can run from or destroy pirates, and can quickly convert to a combat ship. All for a little more than the cost of an E-rated Anaconda

If you really want to get to the Anaconda, then this link gives a good ship progression path.
It is a bit out of date in terms of credits and misses things like mining

For a long time, I stuck with the Python because it is the medium ship Jack-of-all-trades. Does everthing well but not a specialist in any one area.
And you can, if needed, get the cargo upto to 228t I think.

For whenever you need to find a ship, I recommend this site.

Just swap out the ship you’re looking for and your current location. As others have said, jump into a medium ship next. That site also has a list of all ships. Which will give you the ability to make your choice.

Ps, don’t fly without rebuy. o7
