Upgrade or ...?

I have a t6 as main income ship.
Also have an hauler that i use for some exploration trips.

Now i saved up some money and dont know what to do.
Do an upgrade on the hauler: Advanced discovery scanner, Frame shift drive, ... or buy an ASP.

An asp will give you more cargo capacity, but only if you fly without a shield (I wouldn't want to risk it on a 6.6 mil credit ship. but if you want a better explorer ship, you should probably get rid of your hauler and go for a cobra with 16t fuel tank.

The Asp can jump quite a long way which makes it good for exploring. The type-6 isn't actually that bad for it either tbh.

Personally. Now I have an upgraded type-6 I'm going to sell my 2million+ worth of Cobra and go to a maxed out Viper for combat. Because it's much cheaper and better for it. I don't really need an all-rounder any more

I would keep the Lakon and buy a combat ship...I tried to use the asp as both a Combat ship/explorer and trader but what ends up happening is every time you refit, you lose 10% and that gets real expensive when you are trading out B or A shields. Its better to have to separate lines. A trader and then an explorer/fighter.

And in response, to what the last guy said, you can put Size 3 shields on the asp so you don't end up going with no shields...No you don't want to fight with them but they'll prevent you from taking stupid damage.

issent the jump range on a Asp and Hauler far more superior then on the combat ships?
