Engineers Upgrading an Upgrade? Results relative to what?

I recently tried to upgrade my already upgraded FSD Range with Farseer Inc.

When the % increase/deceases were displayed, are they relative to the already upgraded module, or the modules base stats?

Basically, as a casual player its taken me 2 weeks to gather enough mats for 2 upgrades. The second upgrade, a Level 3 FSD Range Upgrade offered '+1% Optimised Mass' where-as the first upgrade, also a Level 3 FSD Upgrade offered a '+14% Optimised Mass'.

So the second upgrade +1% Optimsed Mass, was this relative to my currently fitted upgraded module, or the base module stats?

+1% for a Level 3 FSD Range upgrade that took approx 1 week to achieve(2 hours per day) seems 'lackluster'.

In relative terms, the +14% FSD Range upgrade inferred a bonus of approx +2 Ly, also rather lackluster for 1 weeks effort, I personally felt.

my understanding (read: what i saw someone else write) is that every new upgrade wipes the previous upgrade, so your percentages are referring to the base stats. the upgrades don't stack.

This is so hard to explain...Thanks for the reply tho!

I'm not asking if they 'stack'...rather, if the second upgrade result is +1% above the stats of my current (upgraded) module -and therefore better-, OR, if its +1% above the stats of a base (non-upgraded) module -and therefore worse.

No, applying another upgrade to an already modded Version shows the offset / change to the CURRENT modded Version while giving you slightly better Odds to increase the Values even more over a previous update.

So +1% means one percent over the actual -> pay attention how the bars with the values change when you apply an additional upgrade -> The Areas shift witha a smaller Radius for improvement each upgrade you apply over.

Cheers!

If you have one upgraded module and try to upgrade it again, the new results will always be in comparison to the old upgraded results, not the baseline standard buy-from-the-shop module. Use with caution.
