Newcomer / Intro Upgrading Scanner

I have been thinking of doing a few black box missions but currently only have the basic scanner will upgrading the scanner help me locate them easier?

Nope. Wss appear randomly. Just sit at 0 throttle and wait. The cannisters always appear within scanner range when in the wss

thanks was not sure tried one ore two already but left myself in supercruise while looking around for new contacts.
