Upsilon Phoenicis 1 Lava Spouts GONE!

I heard that there was Arsenic at the Upsilon Phoenicis 1 Lava Spouts nav beacon. I got there and the beacon is tilted sideways and there are NO SPOUTS!

Looks like Odyssey is resetting the planets and killing areas where there are Nav beacons that no longer reflect whats in the DLC.

I suppose Fdev will have to move all the tourism beacons to geologically active locations before doing the merge. That's going to be quite some grind for whoever gets assigned to that task. They're probably going to draw straws for that.

They should just remove all the Geo based Tourist Beacons. Then they could have a competition to suggest new ones. Which would probably be a good idea anyway, once they settle on a new surface generator.

* Horizon player should be able to find them. Beacon may not be at exact location but correct planet. *
* Odyssey has a different planet generation system and completely changed how volcanic geological locations appear. *

A lot of POIs disappeared / moved as part of the great planet surface reset of 3.0 (which everyone seems to have forgotten ever happened for some reason).

There's every chance that this is a tourist beacon from pre-3.0, and the lava spouts won't be there in Horizons either. (In fact I'm not sure there are any Tourist Beacons from post-3.0, or that any updates were made to locations for existing beacons after 3.0.)

If you're heading there in Horizons, @Snowygerry , let us know what you find! (Same to you OP, let us know what you can see in Horizons!)

I've followed tourist beacons down to the surface before, it's not unusual for them to sit in the middle of nowhere [just above the surface iirc] - I wasn't aware they were intended to mark specific location...

Well, it’s a bit like the Thanos snap, so yeah, I guess they put something in the water to make us forget.....

I like the new Geological/Biological Thanos snap, but I would agree & say the planetary beacons will need either removing, or Hulk to come along and run another Snap to bring the Geologicals back, unfortunately the Hulk snap will take a lot of development time.

Moving the beacons to a picturesque area with appropriate geological activity would take much less work than coaxing geological activity to appear at the beacons.

I agree, & that would be a good idea, I’ve already found a few lovely spots myself around the Bubble.

Well I can confirm that the lava spouts are there for me, the beacon sits on the ground on a small hill right next to them,

it would appear we are no longer in the same universe then
