Upturned fish

Hi everyone, sorry but I’ve never posted any thread, on any forum before, ( being an old elite spectrum guy! ) but the new elite is great and I had to share the fact that I’ve just managed to land on a planet over 35 times earth masses! ( BOEWNST RD-E5 129 A3 )
Has any one found larger than that to land on?

Ok, it looks like it was only 4.05G, but I nearly stuffed it in to the ground anyway!
It's easy to do on high G planets. Depending on your ship and thrusters, over 2 or 3Gs, your side and bow thrusters can't hold you up and flight assist can lag significantly on your belly thrusters resulting in a hard landing or worse.
If you want to know more about ship behavior in high G, check my guide linked in my signature.

High G guide

Very comprehensive guide indeed.
Looks like I learnt pretty quick, that it was forward thrusters and nose slightly up, gear down and after one near death smash, never put thrusters downwards! Ha.
