Urrgghhh! Travel!

Lol

Just working on more stuff for my Eagle Adventures Project (see signature...).

And I need to travel from LTT 15574 to Decait. In my Eagle. Which is mostly stock. A rated, but not modified.

17 jumps! Arghhhhhhhhh!
And what's worse, is I have to fuel scoop at every other star! Ahhhhhhh!
And the throttle bug keeps face planting me in to stars. Lol

I was going to include this part in my video, bit sped up, a lot.

But I think I'll just skip it.

5 jumps to go!

You could buy a Hauler and load most of your Eagle’s internals into that for your engineer run.

Or with the new engineer features, sit down and figure out what mods you want for each module, then fly out in a more jumpy ship and pin each blueprint you want. Then come back and do all your engineering in the comfort of your own hangar!

Or is that against the “rules”, something like the Triple Elite Sidewinder challenge? Sorry I’m on mobile, can’t read sigs.

I could have, and probably should have, but my video series is documenting my adventures using only an Eagle. It's basically just a stupid idea. Lol

My first video is me taking a completely stock Eagle to a HAZ Res. That doesn't end well...
2nd is an A rated one in a HAZ Res. Which also doesn't end well...

The third video was supposed to be my voyage to, and engineering at Decait. But it turns out it doesn't make good watching. So I'm rethinking part 3...

I've also hit a snag where my game becomes almost unresponsively stuttery on planets... I thought I fixed that issue, but apparently not. Lol
So I do have some hilarious footage of me crashing in to things due to this odd stuttering. :D

After getting ganked in my type 10 going to Decait I tried an alternative. I set up all my ships up at home base, went to Decait in my courier and transferred all ships to the nearby starbase in that system. Took about 38 minutes to get all of them there but once done, it was a short trip to Ms. Farseer's house to process them, and only one set of back and forth trips and jumps.

Hope that helps.

What's with this throttle bug? I haven't experienced it once. Weird. (before jumping I hit the hotkey for 0 throttle, which I have set to 'X' (the letter X. I'm on pc) Maybe that can help out some people experiencing this)

This is working unpredictably for me. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I haven't nailed down anything that seems to be common with either status, though it NEVER works if I'm already in hyperspace when I press the x

Are you playing with keyboard and mouse or HOTAS?

For me playing with a HOTAS, I bring the throttle to zero when the jump has started but when the jump finishes and the star appears the throttle is set to maximum - and the hand on the throttle animation is on maximum as well - it's frightening.

Some people don't have time for that kind of crap.
I took my Asp to Palin, modified the thrusters, came back to bubble and outfitted my low range ship.

Meh, I cba with all that messing around getting ships transferred and changing modules over. Just rather go there and get it done. Twice.

I have no idea what's going on with my signature.

I posted a thread about it in the forum section, and Robert Maynard said it was visible.

And now it isn't. Lol

I'm safely at the Farseer now. And by safely, I mean I've crashed in to pretty much everything.
And run out of materials for the new engineering system.
Which is going to be part 3 of my video. The hunt for mats. :D

This is why everybody should be forced to go exploring.

Palin's unlock requirement is really just a trip to the shops for a pint of milk and a packet of hobnobs.
If it was up to me, I'd have one of the engineers send the player off to Sag A for scan-data or something.

After you've done a bit of proper exploring - selecting your next waypoint and seeing that it's 400-odd jumps away - it's impossible for travel around the bubble to feel truly laborious. :p

Seconded.

I took my Python out to Sagittarius A*, before Engineers, with a lowly 23.5ly range.

When I [finally] got back to the bubble, it felt tiny! 300ly? Pfft! A mere step!

However, I'm going the other way this time. Gone from my DBX, and Anaconda both with 50+Ly range, down to 15ly... And a tiny fuel tank on top of that. And a tiny fuel scoop. Lol

As someone who just traveled to Sag. A, and is on their way to Colonia before turning back to the bubble, all I can say is ********* (comment redacted)

AHEM.

Sorry, had to get that out of me.

I started an alternate commander to alleviate the boredom of long distance travel, and she had a Viper IV, and just traveling between Imperial systems, one mission was at a star 12.6 ly or something close to that, and it took 5 (5!) jumps to get to the destination. Made me miss my AspX.

Don't worry, man, once the project is done, you'll look back on all the slog and it will be worth it.
