General / Off-Topic Ursula K. Le Guin, RIP

Ursula K. Le Guin, coiner of the sci fi term "ansible". So if you've ever read a sci fi novel and caught a reference to a bit of interstellar comms technology named the "ansible", she's the one that made that word up first. I've seen, at a minimum, Orson Scott Card and Elizabeth Moon use it in their own books.

Yes, I think VERY appropriate for an in game tribute.

“If civilization has an opposite, it is war.”
― Ursula K. Le Guin, The Left Hand of Darkness

RIP

iirc A wizard of earthsea was my first fantasy book, just before The Hobbit even. She was a great writer and a shame to see her go, RIP Ursula K. le Guin.

Yes; a true shining light of the sci-fi/fantasy genre. I have read all her books over the years.

RIP Ursula and thank you..........

A very good tribute to Ursula K Le Guin by David Mitchell (British novelist {Cloud Atlas}, not the obnoxious comedian) in the Guardian:

https://www.theguardian.com/books/2018/jan/25/ursula-le-guin-david-mitchell-earthsea

There is a link there to his previous Guardian article about "Earthsea" from a couple of years ago which I urge anyone with an interest to read at their leisure:

The Guardian also has a tribute to her from Margaret Atwood (The Handmaid's Tale):

I'm just gonna bump this thread and politely ask the devs for a Le Guin Memorial station or megaship. Perhaps in a system with a few water worlds? (Earthsea)
