Astronomy / Space US aims to cut funding for the ISS from 2025

I didn't even realise that funding wasn't set in stone for the ISS until I read this article. I realise that there must be a time that funding will be agreed to, but I foolishly assumed it would be way off like something like 2050.

What will they do if they can't get private funding for it? Assume other countries will pick up the slack?

According to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Space_Station It should be able to have a 30-year lifespan. I'm not sure how much % of the funding the US ponies up.
