so when I join a wing nobody can hear me, I would assume the game isn't able to detect my audio card since it's an outboard card with a Blue Bluebird mic plugged in, i know the mic is working cause i just tracked with it prior to playing and cubase registered it fine. Does this game not register my audio card or is there an option somewhere I am missing.

Maybe Elite is looking at a different audio input? Check your audio devices control panel and see if you've got another recording device (or more than one) active. If so, try disabling any additional recording devices and/or setting your USB device as your default device *and* your default communications device. Then try restarting Elite.
yeah theres only one recording device active at all and it's my line in for my Scarlet 2i2.
