I was trying to get my accelerometer in the wiimote working to use for head tracking and when looking through the closet to get the wiimote I stumbled upon my dusty old Wii Balance Board(WBB) and had an epiphany. FOOT PEDALS!
I looked on line and found this program(Wii Balance Walker) for using the WBB as a walking mechanism for FPS games in VR. Installed it, reassigned the up/down and left/right thruster keys to correspond with the WBB software and voila. I had not only left/right & up/down control but up-left/down-left and up-right/down-right ability! Perfect for landings and dog fight maneuvering.
It can also simulate mouse input and be used for headlooking although I'm just finding this out as of writing this. So I'll be checking into that and reporting back.
It comes with vJoy drivers for input into joystick controls. I'd be interested to see what configurations other people can come up with for ED using everything supplied in this package. Between my HOTAS, the WBB and Voiceattack, I think I have a pretty good thing going on. What do you guys think?
