Use Arx as an incentive

You think they shouldn't give ARX away, make you pay all the time? I guess that would stop people shouting 'Dailies!' at the weekly payout, but I like the ability to passively earn.
No, I think you misunderstood me.

I support nothing earning ARX through normal gameplay, and the potential to earn even more if you participate significantly in CG’s and/or II’s.

I was questioning @SpaceAce’s logic of Frontier not wanting to give ARX away when they are doing that already.
 
Because, by providing a little bit of ARX to a player's account will actually result in players purchasing more ARX to be able to obtain items they want. Instead of having patience to wait to obtain ARX for free, the idea is to provide a small amount free that will encourage players to top it up using real cash.
And do you have a source for this assertion? And why would it preclude giving some more away for some CG’s and II’s?

Also, what’s your opinion on the actual thread topic?

I think this is the underlying issue, some think that specific activities need to be incentivised to encourage others to engage in them while that is not the way FD see things by their own declaration. The objective of threads like this seem to be clearly targetted at promoting a particular way of engaging with ED rather than letting people decide for themselves with all options being considered equal.

The in-game rewards and side effects are the main incentive for engaging with CGs/IIs - any ARX rewards associated with such activities should be flat-rate versus other activities - no bias one way or the other.

Where CQC is concerned, you get to earn credits for the main environment and the main reason for engaging with it is to make use of the segregated competitive PvP environment it is clearly designed to provide. ARX for engaging with CQC probably should not be a thing but given it is designed for competitive PvP it would not be unreasonable for FD to offer ARX bundles as tiered rewards for specific tournaments orchestrated and perhaps streamed by them.
 
The way I see it Fdev made several achievements on consoles for CQC such as winning 50 matches of capture the flag 50 matches of team deathmatch 50 for deathmatch. 2 of those game modes are dead because you cant get 4 people in the same lobby to start a match at all. So that right there is fdev "promoting how I play". Encouraging people to play a game mode that is not within their normal routine. As far as offering Arx as a reward for a CQC tournament... you know what I'd like to see? An actual tournament. Something at all to breathe some life into cqc so some of us can actually get their achievements in that game mode. Instead we have to create a player group of 80 people and hope at least 4 of them will actually play long enough to finish a match. Does fdev add bots to the arena to help us? No. Does fdev lower the player count of all game modes to 2 people? No. Do they host tournaments or do live streams to promote it? No. Are they going to at least make it so you can get arx fron it to entice more players to do it? Heck no they arent but I'm still gonna hope they do and maybee someone from fdev will read my post and get the idea to do it.
