Use Comms Panel ingame for breaking news items.

Hey there Frontier.

After recent destruction of a Captital class Battleship, i was like: "why didn't i know about this ingame? "


Events like this should popup on your comms panel as a galaxywide email. Major events like, the discovery of the Barnacles, UA's, and now the destruction of a Battleship, should be posted on the mail tap in the comms panel, so everybody get to read it, while they are doing there regular daytime ingame job, and discuss it while in a party.. "Wow, guys read your mail!! Capitalclass battlecruiser bla bla just got destroyed!! Let go check it out!!"

This will add a tremendous imerson ingame..

I would prefer the Mail function be reserved for other Players and NPC direct messages than as a news-feed. I think it belongs in GalNet articles.

The DDF had an entire section on Newsfeeds that would, however, fill the bill quite nicely for the local take on events like this, if it can/will be automated.

As Barnacles showed up in GalNet, I imagine the cap ship destruction will "soon". A player may need to submit an article for GalNet to publish.

But I also don't mind learning of some things from external media when I'm not playing, which isn't daily for sure...
