Use original name from Astronomy Catalogue Book

Hi, with post i suggestions for have a good searching in galaxy of use all term in astronomy catalogue.

Since the elite engine is on a 1: 1 scale in reproducing the galaxy, and that a part of it is included with real names of the various catalogs astronomic, it would be necessary, and also instructive, to have the original names to do research on where to go, and for new discoveries during exploration.

This would give an even greater incentive for those exploring, finding, and comparing with the real galactic map what you want to see, or where you want to go.

The game uses several different star catalogues - there are many different star catalogues, not one definitive / all inclusive one. (Although the next Gaia data set will have a lot. :) )

Yes i know it, for example the catalogue of Messier, is no present. The Magellan Cloud, is no there (LMC, ESO 56- G 115, PGC 17223), NGC 2070, ecc.
if you research, you will found missed another astronomical bodies. ;)

That, as per your link, is not our galaxy, but another galaxy orbiting ours. It's quite close, but not our galaxy.

Many star catalogues are used in-game, you can tell by the prefix to the star name in many cases which one. Some stars have fictional names for real stars, and some use one name if different cultures/catalogues have several names for them,

The galaxy map is the Milky Way galaxy. You're not going to find other galaxies inside our galactic map, that's just impossible. You can see other galaxies outside our galaxy and I think the Large Megallanic Cloud is actually one of them.

You should be able to find stars from the Andromeda galaxy when it collides with ours, if you wait long enough. ;) :D

As i've tell first, i'm know to diferent catalogue in game.
But do not is impossible do it. The name and coordinates are in all Catalogue, if in the engine insert the various catologue, the game is done.

Using the various catalogues as a library.

The point is that our galaxy map is exactly that: our galaxy map. What you write is a bit like asking for why the Easter Islands are not on available on your cars navigation system. In the unlikely case that you come from the Easter Islands, please use Los Angeles instead. Sure the Easter Islands are also part of our planet. Just like is Los Angeles, although some seem to think that it's populated by aliens. But they usually are not included in the localized map of your navigation system.

So in case you ever leave the Milky Way and somehow travel to the Large Magellanic Cloud, remember to also download the map for there before making the jump.

Your opinion is correct, reflecting on what you said, to do a job like that completely, is very difficult and expensive.

But ... it does not change the fact that they have not included among the various catalogs, that of messier.

If you are looking for the pleiades, you will not find M45, but if you do the search by name, then yes.
Or if you are looking for M42 or NGC 1976 you can't find it, but if you do it with the name, orion nebula, then yes.
However, the messier catalog for the nebulae is complete.
