Horizons Use SRV Cargo space on ship

I'm sure this has been covered before, but I do not recall the outcome and/or Frontier's response, if any.

The SRV has a cargo rack of 2 tons. So, why cannot this space be used when you have zero cargo racks on your ship? Many uses come to mind, but one in particular: you are driving around on a planet surface, perhaps just completed a skimmer kill or disable power grid mission and you come across an occupied escape pod. Although you have space to carry the pod in your SRV, you have to eject/dismiss the cargo before you can board your ship.

Assuming the back of the SRV is exclusively used for storage canisters. It seems like a logical argument. You know, in ‘real life’ I’d leave stuff in the SRV just because I’m too lazy to haul it into the ship.

Flimley

But the SRV gets folded up into an IKEA flat pack for storage.

Perhaps you are correct, (although not as extreme, the Jetsons opening sequence comes to mind), and this would explain it. After all, you can use the inside of the refinery bin as storage, (or at least you could last time I used one); so you would think Frontier would have thought of this.
