Use SRV to power AFMU to repair ship Power plant.

Here’s an idea to use the AFMU to repair a ship’s power plant. Use the power from an SRV (if available) to power the AFMU to then repair your ship’s power plant. Seems like a workable solution to remote repair of the power plant.

But it needs ship power to run the vehicle hanger to unfold the SRV and start its power system, the SRVs power is obviously not permanently on or it would be out of fuel before you got to deploy it.

An alternative may be to use power regulators. And degraded power regulators could be revived by using some mats.
There are a lot of Odyssey materials (blueprints, etc.) around which finally would make some sense to keep them.

There’s gotta be a lot of those to start causing serious issues.
Could also be doing this XD

If a module is at 0% health and you can't repair it with the AFMU, choose "reboot/repair" from the ship's right panel to restore 1% of health to all modules that are at 0%. Then you can use the AFMU.

(Ok, I admit that I don't know if "reboot/repair" works if it's your power plant that's at 0%, but I would assume it does. Although who knows.)

Going to deviate a bit from the original question, I'd say that there are much more potential game loops possible around servicing the ship when not being able to fly to a nearby station. Deep space exploration could be spiced up by a few more risks and expanded maintenance possibilities.

Well the consideration was for out of the bubble exploration and dealing with worse case scenarios. The SRV has it's own battery/power source, so it should be possible to power an AFMU with it for a short time. In fact, now that I think about it, an SRV could be used as a limited emergency battery power for just about anything.

Or, have the Arc cutter tool have a repair mode, land your ship, get out and be able to carry out repairs on the power plant and hull - even if it does not enable 100% repair. Just say to 70% or something.

Well ships, SRV and suits use MWs as a measurement of energy so why not use suit backup Energy Cells (or even suit energy) to power up AFMS in such case?
Anyway I can't think of any situation except ship getting serious damage from overheating for it to power down.
I do not engage in combat but in the case of reactor power down is such scenario the most likely result is watching rebuy screen right after that.
I have also learned that it is better to have low emissions instead of armored since the 1st one prevents overheating in star proximity.

The simplest solution would be to modify AFMS to work for limited time without external power source (like 5 mins or so, can be related to Life Support System offline work time)
