Use us as your cloud?

Whilst lying awake this morning, I've been thinking that I'm getting some relevations/questions.

1) are we as members of the Frontier Developments forum, especially the ELITE DANGEROUS Forum actually helping or hindering your work to a) produce the game and b) improve the technology behind the game?

2) is the design decision forum etc making things harder for you guys?

3) are there other ways that we can help the process?

4) thinking along the lines of so called "cloud computing" do we not have the idea a bit backwards? shouldn't "you guys" as the clever ones be using "us - the masses" as your "cloud"?

5) if 4) is correct, then what do you want from us? brain power? computing power?

Please tell me, I'm very willing to help as otherwise I wouldn't leave any mark on my time as a member of society.

Isn't this the very thing they are doing? They come up with ideas and then bounce them off the DDF and end up improving certain areas on basis of that feedback.

The danger is, however, that it may also make the game worse, if the designers do not have a clear vision of what they are doing and bend over backwards to accommodate every wish. Frontier does not seem to have this problem and I hope that they remain immune to it.

Thinking more along the "your cloud" idea, suddenly a theory hit me:

There is something wrong with the world (like in The Matrix). It's not ours any longer.

The internet (which resembles a brain map), has become self aware. We (the human race) are probably doomed!

I'm thinking further outside the box here. Not just to Frontier and ED and the DDF, but out to the "clever guys" who really run the world!

Sorry to the guys who run the world (the NSA lol), I think I'm having a mid-life crisis.

Going to go offline for a day or too.

Yeah I'm sometimes prone to coming to the defense of harassed staff in any shop, McDonalds, whatever. My usual put-down runs along the lines of:

The customer may always be right, but he doesn't have to be a [insert expletive of your choice] about it.

Note only I as the defender not-staff can actually get away with this, I don't recommend the staff using it.
