I have Elite in One, no need for this, instead, I'll take this chance to play Star Citizen untill I have a PC that runs something more than google chrome...

To be perfectly honest streaming between Xbox and PC in either direction seems somewhat pointless. I only game on PC so maybe from the perspective of someone who does both it makes sense but elite isn't really a living room type game in my opinion (meaning since it's not split screen or coop in anyway there's no real benefit). There are also many cheaper was to stream to the living room than buying an Xbox. Again this is just my perspective.

The "consoles are mostly for living room" thing is way not true anymore, almost no game even has split-screen and you can perfectly play Xbox in a monitor (or TV, doesn't matter) in your bedrom or "playroom". We are even going to have keyboard and mouse now... (as confirmed by Phill)

Yes but if you don't have your Xbox in your living room, then why would you be streaming from your PC? I'm all for consoles being able to support keyboard and mouse, that's fantastic for Xbox owners. My point was that if you primarily game on PC there are far better and cheaper ways of getting your content on another screen in another room. Which room the xbox is in is irrelevant unless it's in the same room as your PC. In which case, why would you be steaming it?

Well, kinda sorta. You'll be able to stream from the PC to the Xbox, but you'll still be playing in the PC world, not the Xbox world. I hope that clearer statements are made before PC owners buy Xbones thinking they'll be able to play with their friends who are playing on Xbone. Streaming to Xbox is going to be exactly like streaming from an Nvidia equipped PC to one of the shield devices. It's a neat trick, but the usefulness is in question.

What is going to be interesting is if Microsoft really breaks the platform wall in 2016 when the first games arrive that have hinted at cross platform play. After that, who knows, maybe even MS will cave and open up crossplatform play.

Exactly, the questionable use case is what I was getting at. Not in anyway trying to knock console gamers or imply that they are confined to the loving room.

I think the only advantage will be for players who already own an xbox, but dont want to buy and start a new account, so if the pc is in another room, then they would have the option to switch to play in the living room or bedroom even (on the couch/bed maybe ) if they wished,
I know if i owned an xbox, i would not want to start all over with a new account when i could use my existing one.
But i agree the advantages are very limiting.

Well I read somewhere that it's mostly likely not going to happen because of Microsoft's review policy requiring every update or fix to be reviewed before being released on the xbox which would hinder updates on other platforms.

I also read some speculation that xbox players won't be able to play alongside their pc brethren but will be able to affect changes across the same galaxy (again speculation)

Its streaming also. So whats the point really. You still are playing the game off of the computer but then streaming it to your xbox. Which will cause a tiny bit of lag. You still will be playing the PC version of the game even if it gets streamed to the Xbox. Also if you stream the game from xbone to PC you still are playing the Xbone version and account.

My PC is already hooked to my 50inch tv anyway.

I think streaming to PC with an Occulos Rift will be cool because of the simmulated Huge screen, but the other way 'round seem's kinda pointless to me. Then again I have my PC runing through my Xbox so I can just press a couple button's and start up StarCraft.

The streaming thing is just silly as well, lag input plus playing at a lower res when I could play it better on a pc personally I can't see sales being THAT good on xbox, sure no doubt there's going to be an influx of new players initially but eventually it will settle down.

This is awesome, was planning to sell my Xbox. So I will be able to play on my PC account with my DK2 & have friends view everything on my the big screen using my xbox?

Suposedly this streaming thing would allow those with a crap rated computer to play PC games on Xbox One, my PC would nver run Elite or any other game, that is why this interests me

I would imagine it will be most beneficial for people who want to capture xbox game footage. The current record options are somewhat limited so if i could stream through my PC and edit and upload the footage that way it would be good. No need for any expensive capture cards either!

What you can do is stream your gameplay, not a Xbox dashboard preview member so no detail's except with a OR you will be able to be sitting in a virtual movie theatre of sort's with a huge screen that will likely be bigger than your monitor or TV. Or if you mean playing the PC through the Xbox's HDMI input then yes as long as DK2 still show's what you're seeing on the monitor or TV(or Xbox in this case) the PC's hooked up to.

EDIT: It will also work to stream PC gameplay to Xbox over your network I guess, but like I said my PC's allready hooked into my Xbox as I use both for my gaming and I had both just hooked into seperate HDMI input's before I thought of my current solution.

But that isn't how streaming works. Your computer is still processing the information not the xbox. So your computer would still need to be able to run the game. Unless you mean going the other way? Streaming xbox games to any old computer would work. Any streaming is going to involve some amount of lag though. Might be negligible might not be.
