Having a look for sources of info i came across this site. lots of useful info on there including a list of 655 Star systems with coordinates in FFE.

i thought might come in handy as a rough guide, as it's unlikely they will decide to rename all the planets (just the ones pledged for.) anyone finds other useful links post then here and I'll add them to the list

Jades' site has always been a great resource. Isn't he the guy who is presently working on the Pioneer game (FFE clone)?

cant see how, unless it's items hosted and distributed in contravention to licence or copyright.

any fan sites/fiction is in itself a derivative work of FD product after all. in using them as a resource all we will be doing is collecting info we would otherwise either need to research ourselves by playing FFE or hassling the dev's for should we be in a position to do so.
