User Name Conflict?

Hi folks, I will be moving from Xbox to PC/Rift soon. My Xbox username is Hea7hen, my Steam username is also Hea7hen. Will this cause any kind of conflict when I download Elite Dangerous from Steam and try to log into the game on PC?

No idea. Although testing won't hurt. Worst case you might have to write to support to transfer your account data over to PC if it doesn't.

I'm pretty sure the Elite username is independent from your Steam name.

But to be sure there is an easy solution: Buy it directly from Frontier instead from Steam. Makes no difference in functionality at all. And that way Frontier won't have to give 15% of the revenue to Steam which means more money to develop Elite further (if you care about that).

Not a problem, unless if a PC player has already chosen the name (Different players can have the same commander name if one is on PC and the other one is on XBox).

This - if a PC player already has "Hea7hen" as their username, you'll need to pick a different one.

Asking to transfer your account over is a good move - but you'll then probably lose the ability to play on the XBox (or you'll have to start over - I'm pretty sure the PC and XBox Live accounts will be different and essentually different CMDRs).
