Using 3 monitors and not having the right / left views move to the center screen

I fear I will have to buy a TrackIR to get this to work.
I had a VR helmet, and the center always stayed centered. I looked left and right to open those menus.
With the 3 monitors, I want to have the left menu pop up on the left screen, and not move to the middle screen. I don't need it to move to the center with 3 monitors.

Is there a setting to do this with 3 monitors? Or will I have to buy TrackIR?
Cheers

If you have a smartphone, you can just use opentrack with FreePIE IMU (comes as an APK with Opentrack) and leave the phone on your desk.

Greetings,
With my triple monitors, the left/right popups stay left/right, so what you're after is possible but not sure where or if there is a setting until I boot up ED next.
Will let you know as soon as.

IMO VR is over rated, uncomfortable and impractical, once people work this out, triple set up will be gaming standard. Companies shouldn't spend too much time VR- ing games. I see VR like 3d TVs, a flash in the pan then consigned to bad tech idea history.

Yuck, why would you want 3 Monitors? I like to pick an all in one monitor. Ultra widescreen.

I believe the setting you're after is in the 'Mode Switches' settings group and the 'Looking at * Panel' tabs. I have mine set to 'Does Nothing' except for Comms Panel which is set to 'Shows the Panel'.
Although I'm only running one monitor I do use TrackIR and with these settings I can keep looking straight ahead and call up the Target panel for docking without the camera being grabbed away from centre. I believe it also works without TrackIR too, but then you can't see the panel but if your triple monitor setup still displays the panels either side then hopefully it'll work for you :)

Using one very large monitor (in my case a 40" 4K display) even as a TrackIR user I find myself rarely using it and I do not extend my display to the 1080p monitors either side ingame.

well I have to disagree. I have both, VR and a full cesna fsx/prepar3d cockpit at home, both are neat and - for dog figth - VR or trackir is a must imho.

You'll never convince those who don't like VR. Some people just don't 'get it', and that's fine - I understand pin-sharp graphics are more important to some people than immersive presence.

However, the amount of work and research currently being done in the field of VR suggests it is far from a 'dead' fad - it'll become a lot more sophisticated over time.. like the iphone (although I guess that's subjective...), Monitors themselves...graphics cards... even mice. All these things started off as being bought by the 'eary adopter', and now we could not live without them (maybe not the iphone...) Things like the new Pixar 5/8k HMD are a glimpse of how I think things will be within the next decade, and once HMD's get smaller, lighter, better resolution and hopefully reliably wireless... we'll look back at today and wonder how we ever got on just using a 2D flat screen...

I'm from the future and you're incorrect.
