Hardware & Technical Using a Thrustmaster TWCS throttle with Saitek X52 Pro joystick

My Saitek X52 Pro throttle died and I was advised to buy a replacement Thrustmaster TWCS throttle.
I kinda hoped it would work plug and play but now Elite Dangerous recognizes neither the throttle or the stick.
Is this even possible or was this a mistake and should I buy a Thrustmaster stick ?
If it is possible how do I go about this ? Any pointers would be helpful.

It should just be plug-and-play. Does Windows recognise the throttle in the Devices window? What about the Windows Game Controllers window, is it listed there and if yes does it reflect your inputs?

After some further research I determined that the 'brains' of the Saitek X52 Pro joystick are located in the now deceased companion Saitek throttle.
So this was a mistake and combining will never work.
Windows does register the Thrustmaster TWCS throttle correctly.
Correspondingly, I will purchase a Thrustmaster T.16000M FCS HOTAS to replace my Saitek stick as it is advertised to work best with the TWCS throttle and Elite Dangerous.

Thank you for your reply.
