Hardware & Technical Using Bluetooth headset with PC? Can I just use it for communication? Can I use the Xbox headset?

I just started playing Elite. I'm guessing that the ability to talk to people is important if you want to play on a server, so I've only been playing solo thus far. A wired headset won't work with what I'm doing, so I figured I'd try a bluetooth headset. I also have an Xbox controller. I still want to use my regular sound system.

So now I'm wondering... will a basic bluetooth headset with a mic do the job? Could I just buy an Xbox headset?

You can certainly use a Bluetooth headset as voice comms.

The downside is, they tend to be a bit crap.

Even my lovely Plantronics Savo 740 sounds rubbish compared to a cheapo wired Logitech H650e
