Using default MS text to speech with Voice Attack?

I plan on buying a voice pack eventually but for the moment does anyone know of a good MS voice to use for voice attack? I have heard there is a particular one that sounds pretty good actually, and also how would i use it with voice attack? Im not really sure how i would set it up for a voice pack.

I use "Microsoft Hazel Desktop - English (Great Briton)"

from within VA as you are making individual commands select the "other > sounds > Say something with Text-to-speech" function and within that menu that opens there is a "voice" drop-down box, in which you select from the available ones on your system.

I've been using "Default", which sounds a little like Steven Hawking. I don't have Hazel, but I have 2 other choices: "Microsoft David Desktop" and "Microsoft Zira Desktop".

To get hazel, on your computer go to - settings - time and language - region and language - select united kingdom - go to speech - select english (united kingdom) - in text to speech select hazel - restart voice attack and you should see hazel as an option.

If I could replace the default ship voice with Samuel Jackson, I'd definately turn them all back on!

I use the Ivona TTS voice 'Emma' with VA and EDDI. That's also a Brit. They have several voices from various countries, and several of them sound pretty decent.

There are some trial versions at Harpo Software if you want to give them a test drive before purchasing them.

i have two of the voice packs and really enjoy them i have eli and astra. i have never used the basic voice from windows like you said it sounds awful. but really worth the little money to get the voice packs i would say

I also use and can recommend 'Hazel'. I think, she even sounds a little bit like the ship's voice.
