Ship Builds & Load Outs Using FSD, any suggestions on how to avoid Hull Damage?

When I get interdicted, I simply pull down the throttle to submit, and then punish the interdictor. Of course that also preserves my hull in case I cannot escape, in the alternative. However, when interdicting ships, no matter what speed I attempt to slow down to interdict, my ship experiences the violent pull from Supercruise and I get that 2300 cr minimum hull damage bill when I get to the station from the abrupt drop from Supercruise.

Anyone of you experienced Commanders with the FSD offer suggestions on successful interdiction of another ship while avoiding what for me seems to be inevitable hull damage? Kind of makes you want to skip interdicting ships altogether just out of the frustation.

Was running a 4D interdictor, but replaced the Size 4 slots on my FDL with a B Fuel Scoop and A SCB, so I am running a 2A FSD with B Range. I appreciate your suggestions in advance.

Interdicting someone will inevitably cause hull damage regardless of throttling down due to the stress it puts on the ships involved more so on the interdictor, submitting to an interdiction simply means you are at a speed you can safely disengage so the computer automatically disengages the FSD and no harm done. That said I have noticed I've been able to keep my hull in the 100% mark when interdicting by throttling down as soon as I start the interdiction, I still get the hull integrity warning from the computer though and eventually it will whittle it down to 99% after interdicting a few times. The damage received gets worse at higher speeds so it also depends on how fast your target is going.

That is very useful to know. I will be giving that a try - thanks for the tip and have some rep!
