Using Galnet and local station news

I came back from investigating the fungal mounds out at the Mahon Research Base in the California Nebula, only to find an outbreak of toxic mould at the station where we had been unloading Exploration Data.

In ED you never know if it's an easter egg or just random noise.

I like to believe FD design this intentionally, like UA bombing.

It is trial for voice synth FD plans to use elsewhere in game.

So yeah, excited, for good reason.

i can tell already what will not work.

usually, most of my playtime, i see loading screens.

aka dropping from supercruise into normal space, or the transision between supercruise and hyperspace.
none of those short transitions is "smooth" enough to NOT close the comms panel. so i do not expect GalNet audiologs to be able to ignore that transition.

that, and the fact that i would actually prefer having in-flight-notification regarding mission updates beeing read out to me, instead of random news...
i keep my expectations LOW

They aren't loading screens, that's why audio won't have problem with that.

Maybe it shows what a colossal nerd I am, but I've always read all the station reports and local news whenever I visit. It just seems like the right thing to do as a commander. I want to know what's happening in the area -- things to watch out for as well as any potentially lucrative opportunities. It adds a lot to the immersion of the game for me.

I don't have a problem with the presentation of it either. I like that you actually have to look for that news and spend some time digging through it. Yes, you might have to actually click and scroll a bit. You may even have to spend a few precious minutes reading text, possibly for no reward. This is not a game for the faint-hearted.
