Community Event / Creation Using Google Home as a Personal Assistant

Hello! I've had a crazy idea, and I wanted to put it out there in case more capable folks might take interest.

A small fraction of you may own a little device Google released called Google Home. It's a little bluetooth speaker with an 'AI' driven assistant built in. They've recently enabled user-generated bots, which allows 3rd parties to design what is essentially a voice-powered chat bot. The official name is "Actions On Google." It links up with www.api.ai and can hook into all kinds of services. I've only just started to scratch the surface, but it seems to me that given a good data set, it should be possible to have interactions like:
What is the top speed of an Imperial Eagle?

Or something more complex like:
Which is faster when fully modified, an Adder or a Anaconda?

Additionally, I think it would be really cool to be able to ask things like, where is the nearest scoopable star from X, or how many jumps would it take to get to X from Y with a stock Z (ship)? None of this should be beyond what is possible with google's API, but the part that is beyond me is where it hooks into a web database. Is there anyone reading this who has experience in such things? Sadly, my skills don't go much beyond HTML, CSS and some very limited scripting languages.
