Using mouse n keyboard, I feel drunk!

Is it possible to get the Battlefront style controls into this game?

The endless rolling/pitching is driving me insane, I feel almost drunk.

If I enable the relative settings, it feels more like Battlefield, but the constant mosuedragging is annoying and doesnt work well in space.

I want it to be closer to Battlefront, where the game helps you with pitch and roll a bit, but not as ridiculously as this game does it.

There's a lot of tweaking you can do on the controls.

Try making yaw the mouse X axis and roll the A and D keys, for example. You can map anything to anything.

No I prefer having roll and pitch on Mouse because I use that in all games with some form of flying as its more natural for me.
However itdoesnt work well at all in this game. :S

This worked for me when I started...one minute I was about to rage quit then reassigned keys and suddenly I was Orville the duck.....I can fly!

And turn off the setting that resets your mouse to the centre after a while as it was constructed by an uncaring, wrathful god to punish the sinners who don't read the Options menu.

1st of all buy Voice Attack and map everything that is not flight control to it, you can get it for under $10 in most countries.

2nd remap your flight controls to something sensible as the stock layout is terrible. Ill list mine for an example.

W - pitch down

S - pitch up

A - roll left

D - roll right

Q - thrust left

E - thrust right

R - thrust up

F - thrust down

Right shift - accelerate

CTRL - decelerate. 95% of my throttle control is mapped to my numpad in increments and controlled using voice, the only time I touch shift/CTRL is you fine tune speed to tail somebody.

Mouse Control - Pitch up/down, yaw left/right. The mouse is pretty much there only to fine tune aim on target and a good mouse will do this like a beast.

So its a keyboard game then?
I guess i'll file for a refund if that is the case, if mouse cant be properly used like in 9/10 of all other space / flight games.

Mouse works perfectly fine for me in X3, but this game, man it is horrid :/

Its a simulation. That's a new term to most gamers these days, and to really enjoy it (at least for me) you need a joystick (most game stores have a vague memory of these) and a throttle (most game stores today have no idea). Since consolemania took over most gamers under 25 have never seen or heard of HOTAS. Google Saitek or better yet Thrustmaster, and see what simulations are supposed to be played with... So no James, this is not a keyboard game, altho it can be played with one...But why would you want to?...

Where did I say I want to play it with a keyboard?
The guy above suggested that I should play with Keyboard and rarely use the mouse, wth.

X3 is as much Sim as this game is, yet you cant use the Mouse properly without going haywire in this game.

Bind the "yaw/roll button" (I use right mouse button) that way you control pitch/yaw/roll all on the mouse. Use absolute mode and make sure you turn on the arrow widget. WASD for directional thrusting/mouse scroll for forward/backward thrust.

If you haven't got a HOTAS setup and are using the mouse then a keyboard of some description is unavoidable.
I have a razer tartarus and bought myself a relatively cheap stick - Logitech extreme 3D pro which works quite well

You really don't need a joystick for ED. A mouse works great. It's a little esoteric, but once you are used to switching between roll/yaw on the mouse aiming is a piece of cake :)

Nice, why not flame the people trying to help you. All it takes is some rebinding and less whining. Your not worth helping and should uninstall now.

You dont seem to know what flaming is. Leave thread.
Also your "Help" wasnt help, it was basicly the complete opposite of what I wanted, you went full Keyboard, thats NOT a solution.

Im not paying hundreds of dollars for a game.
Where did I say I DONT want to use keyboard? The guy I quoted's keybindings were PURE Keyboard.

I want the setup just like X3/other flight games where it works well with Mouse as Pitch/Roll, doesnt in this game. Its constant rolling/pitching and TOO speedy/sensitive while at it.

Arrow Widget dont work when you invert mouse, so no.
