Hello everyone, maybe some of you can help me. I use the Track-ir with ED but it only works when I'm inside the cockpit of the ship, if I go out on foot it doesn't work. In the foot keys preset I didn't notice any particular command referring to the Track-ir, does anyone know the solution?
they dropped & disabled on foot track ir support some time ago now with little to no explanation as to why? afaiaa
i think it may be due to head/ body alignment issues going out of sync during use and as they could not fix that without a total rewrite they simply disabled it..........
but that is just speculation on my part.
as you mentioned in ship an srv works as intended....
*i wrote a little python script to realign out of sync issue on the fly which i triggered by using voice attack so i am disappointed they dropped it also
so in answer to your question there is no solution you can apply to re-enable it..........

i suppose having to press voice attack F9 could be taxing
if they had an in game on off binding setting option that would have been better as giving peeps a choice is always a better idea imo but ho hum
i just wrote a script to simply slave F9 (track ir off) and F12(hmd reset) to gun sight aim so i could take in the vista when not intending to kill anyone ie galactic postman pat mode or sat@ a bar waiting for the bar steward to finally pour me a lavian garggle blaster with a twist on the rocks and a tiny edible tarach spice beetle wing umbrella to aid recovery

The funny thing is I now have muscle memory to tap the joystick button I have bound to disabling headlook every time I go on foot (and tap it again every time I get back in my ship/SRV) and am still doing it even tho' I no longer need to.I am actually relieved they did this. In the past I had to temporarily disable TrackIR whenever I'm on foot. I'm also an FPS player so I don't like looking where my gun isn't pointing
