Using wings in private groups

Greetings Commanders,

I've encountered a bit of an issue regarding private groups and wings. I'm an xbox user so this could very well be an Xbox bug but I'm posting here just in case I'm being a bit silly. My friends and I have utilised the new private group feature on the Xbox but it seems it won't allow us to create a wing. We'd like to share out bounties in RES but obviously not being in a wing brings us to a bit of a problem. Is this intended behaviour? We can join up in a wing in open so I wouldn't have thought it's a connection issue.

Stupid question: Are you both in the same private group or are you in different private groups? Can you see each other in game?

So I've managed to get it to work. For reference, the fault is the inability to join a player's wing when in the same private group. I managed to get it to work by having myself and a buddy in the same instance together and the 'invite to wing' button became available. The pairing remained when I jumped to SC but the option to invite to wing disappears as soon as someone leaves the instance.
