USS - straight into the mouth of a Lakon 9

So there is was, looking for a Pirate Lord, searching USSs, when I dropped into one to be greeted, head on, with a Lakon 9 filling my entire screen! Needless to say I had a bit of a shock followed by a nasty crash which knocked my widescreen out and left my hull at 35%. Thankfully I had a decent shield and Military plating. The cheeky NPC then decided to offer me a transaction that I could not refuse (i legged it, fearing he would ram me again).

I'm not sure if its a bug that he appeared so close (he was literally right in front of me - no time for evasion), but it was an entertaining encounter none the less - my lucky streak of never losing my Cobra widescreen is over though.....

That's been something I've run into as far back as Beta.

There were several occasions where I got interdicted by system authorities, would drop out of SC, and promptly run them over with my Cobra, breaking their little toy Eagles in the process.

I also lost a few ships of my own that way.

Hehe yeah happened to me as well. I dont think i crashed and burned yet though from it. 2 days ago i dropped in and i think it was a Python or Conda named Colossus there... I didnt know who it was so i crept closer and ready to bail in case. Right... KABLAAAAM!! One hit from plasma accelerators (i think) and my shield was gone - completely gone as in fried to the core. I juuuust made it by boosting and jump out lol.

I cracked my window few days back as well when dropping into a station from SC ended up at the top of one of those long large stations. Right into the grey metal - CRACKLE!

I dropped into a USS face to face with an Elite Anaconda the other day.
Mr Aggressive didn't even give me time to run!
My little Sidey took JUST ONE HIT which knocked out all my shields AND systems.
I floated around for a few seconds (just enough time to contemplate my error) and then he swatted me to death.
