USS targets should in the Contacts panel

This makes sense in lore (it is an unknown SIGNAL source) and really would make life a lot easier as don't lose your in-system destination when you go investigate. Maybe even have the notice in the communication panel like for a tip off. Thanks for considering.

Or if this is too hard can we have next nav point button that exists for system jumps also work for in-system destinations (if no system route defined, the button would re-select last target or something like that) please.

I totally agree. This should have been that way from day one.

I'm I'm flying around I don't want to constantly turn just to find out what kind of USS it is.

Absolutely, that would indeed be much more sensible than the current absence of USS's from the Contacts panel.

Which is why this simply cannot be done.

I hate the way they work too, but we should clamor for the removal of this placeholder, instead of asking FD to make them better, and by association, more permanent.

How about just revealing the USS type when you point the nose of the ship at it the way it does after you've targeted it so that you can decide to target and enter USS or just bypass.

This is just so WAY overdue

This annoyance is on a par with the new SRV targeting that now requires an extra click because they didn't put the ignore controls on the Inventory Panel where it belongs so can't take a material off the ignore list until you target the next time.

Who thinks of this stuff ???

Come on FD - fix it

That may well be better, but while we wait around for a change that may never come, it would be nice to at least see those placeholders show up in Contacts.

They're in the game whether we like it or not. Might as well make them easier to find when they zip by.

I would ask that they are in BOTH. There is a solid argument for either, and depending on what you are doing, you could be looking in either.

Can't argue with you! I too would like to see USS displayed in the contacts section in addition to the Nav Panel.

The other thing I would like to see is your Material quantities displayed next to any mats that are displayed in the Contacts panel. When I heard that the game would display our inventory numbers for any mats or data found in space and on planets, I naturally assumed that this quantity would be listed next to anything displayed in the Contacts panel.

Like this:

CONTACTS

* Conductive Ceramics (55)
* Compound Shielding (63)
* Galvanising Alloys (221)

Instead the quantity only shows up for a single material you are currently locked onto, and only displayed on the lower left of the main cockpit displays. That isn't nearly as useful as the above would be.
