USS - what and where

A lot of people keep refering to USS could somebody please explai this , thanks.

I asked the same thing. It's an unidentified signal source. You target them while in supercruise, and arrive at them just like a station. You may find wanted people, traders, or cargo floating. If doing a bounty hunting mission, you jump to them until a ship gives you info on what system you're target is in. Then you keep checking USS's for your target.
