Happened to me in my first Type 7 - months ago.. not only did I jet all cargo but I then got flustered and boosted into a wall.. didn't have enough to cover the insurance so got busted to a sidewinder.

I quickly learned to disable the jettison all cargo function entirely - just not quick enough!

To The OP : Must admit to having done that myself, I was actually trying to turn my lights on and hit the wrong button. Have to say it could have been worse I was thinking half way through reading the post that you had hit the self destruct by mistake (I've done that as well! Luckily it was early on and only a Cobra)

I think the 'intention' of the binding jettison all cargo key, is to be able to jettison fast in case of pirates.....but yeah really should have a confirmation dialog at the very least.
