General / Off-Topic Vacation Diary! (Packing For Holiday Woes)

So, woke up at 4am today!

Had breakfast. Went back to sleep until 7am.

Then went to downtown Seattle.

Drank several coffee's, walked past the original Starbucks, but couldn't be bothered to queue for it.

Did a load of other stuff until lunch time.

Then my girlfriend went and ordered "large fries" from a fancy fries place, forgetting that American large is actually large, not like English large, which for a fancy place is about 2 fries in a large barrel, and costs £19.
No no, these were large, and only cost $5...

Oh I how laughed. As I ate them, after eating my Chinese meal. Yum.

It's 6.30pm, and I feel like going to bed again, but I must not!

French Fries ?

I'm home. And depressed. Lol

I'll upload a load of photos when I can be bothered to deal with Imgurs awkwardness. I took loads of photos, and hardly any selfies (I hate selfies, and people who spend all their time taking them!).

We did many things.
We went on a tour boat, a ferry boat, a car boat, and a boat plane. And a gondola.
And drove my typical American (Japanese) SUV around. A lot
And walked. A lot.
And caught a bus. Once.

And we ate abnormal amounts of pancakes and hash browns. And other delicious foods.
Now we're back home and everything looks so bland and small.

Soon™!

Posting images is easy. But for some reason, uploading them is awkward. The app doesn't work, and the website doesn't like letting me log in.

I've begun my quest to find American hash browns, ideally frozen. But nowhere in England sells them. :( So far.
I may just have to make my own, but I'm too lazy. I miss my American breakfast. Cereal is soooooooo dull in comparison.

A quick Google suggests every major supermarket sells them!? McCain, well-known purveyor of oven-baked potato products, also sells them. I deduce you are jet-lagged... get well soon, commander [yesnod]

Edit: Just had a quick look at your pics - very nice! But I have been led to believe it rains constantly in Seattle; you obviously went to a different Seattle!

The rain is a lie, told to keep tourists away. Lol

I've not seen grated or shredded potato in the UK before. Found them in every supermarket in Seattle. Lol

I never use the imgur app, it doesn’t offer the same functionality as the full site. Not on iPad anyway.

Thanks for sharing man, I liked the glass museum pieces. And the ogre(?) under the bridge.
Nice wide open scenery also. Must of been a refreshing trip.

I was a really nice trip. Sad to be home, in boring England. Where everything is small. Even the tree's are small. Lol

The orge is the Fremont Troll. On Troll Avenue North. Lol
A clever piece of art. That site was a breeding ground for all sorts of crime, and at the time the local law enforcement wouldn't do anything about it.
So the art commission (or whatever it was called) commissioned that troll to be built. Now it's such a popular tourist attraction, the criminals just left. Lol
But Seattle doesn't really have that much crime these days anyway.

It's a lovely city, and state. Despite the recent smoke from wild fires, the air in the city centre is still cleaner than my home town, Shrewsbury. Lol

Seattle's "free and clear" law is something that needs adopting in the UK. No smoking in any places of public gathering.
So much nicer when you walk around parks, markets, and whatnot and no one is blowing smoke in your face, or standing outside every doorway making a smoke screen you then have to hold your breath to walk through. Lol
Not that I saw many people smoking in Seattle either.

People complain about the traffic in Seattle. But I don't see the problem. We went from Fremont to downtown (which is like 8 miles), in 20 minutes in rush hour.
In Shrewsbury, it can take the same time to do 2 miles to work.
