Validatio error 1.1 upgrade

Ok am getting the old validation error when trying to update.

C\users\Admin\Appdata\Local\Frontier_developments\Products\FORC-FDEV-D-1010\Win32\data.ovx

Does anyone know if they have posted the updated versions of the data.ovx and root.ovl files. Need these to continue the update. Any help appreciated. Thanks

If anyone is able to post these files (data.ovx and root.ovl) it would be great. Tried to download them from FD, but it looks like they haven't been updated for 1.1.

Validation error....AGAIN!?!?!

So upgrading to 1.1, all happy to play and see what has changed. I log in and hit update.

Data.ovx (validation error) AGAIN!!! Every damned time there is an update I get the same error even after clean installs and following all the steps to fix it.

What the hell FD? Is there a downloadable data.ovx file that I can get for the current 1.1 version like there was for 1.07? I was looking forward to this but now being unable to play again for up to several days due to this persistant bug (that several of my friends also have happen to them today) is making all of us think 'Why bother?' which is sad cos the game is fun.

updated the launcher and still get the data.ovx validation error, I get this error EVERY time there is an update, it's getting beyond a joke now.

Yup same here, hit Upgrade, data.ovx validation error.

Uninstalled/deleted/launcher, reinstalled on C:\, validation code works, hit now "Install" and validation error. Tried old ovx, no good.

I had this as well today during my first attempt to download 1.1.

I just restarted the Upgrade sequence and it continued the download. Just to be certain after the Upgrade had finished I validated the game files from the Launcher/Options tab. All good. I'm in.

Don't lose heart.

Been playing a few days now, originally had the validation error, downloaded the .ovx, all was well.

Today not so, need the new ovx.

All steps completed as per FAQ, Defender disabled also the firewall, frustrating.

This is the 3rd or fourth time it has happened to me. Once they upgrade to a new version the old data.ovx file and root.ovl files won't work.
They need to update the files on their website every time.
Unfortunately they never ever do this until people start having issues. Its sooooo frustrating!!!
Last time we had to rely on Mack to sort it out for us, but he doesn't seem to be around today (should put that guy on the payroll).
BTW there is no need to uninstall the game...all we need is the updated files.

If anyone who has successfully updated to 1.1 could post their data.ovx and root.ovl files to help out us poor sods out it would be much appreciated.

That's bad news, was getting into Elite.
Wont hang around for support then, thanks for the heads up mate.

thanks Brownshortz and Mack. that's the third time now. I guess not too many CMDR's are having this problem as it still isn't fixed yet. tried a launcher uninstall/re-install and nothing. only the data/root files fix it everytime. time to write another unanswered ticket.

This happened for the first time for me with the previous update.

Many thanks for providing the files.
I had a nightmare with the validation erors when I first installed this game a fortnight ago and, thanks to these forums, was able to get the fix.
Strangely, both yesterday's 1.1 update and the hotfix released a few hours later downloaded and installed without any issues.

Happy flying...
