Valve confirms Chaperone can be used for Oculus Rift

Nice to know, but all of this valve functionality adds an overhead and reduces the Oculus performance in ED.

I would rather have native full performance and forgo the valve features, or at least have an option to disable/bypass them.

Oculus performance has been decreasing slightly with every new steamVR beta.

I still use an early steamVR beta because it has better performance than the later builds.

Maybe I'm not being imaginative enough but I can't see chaperone being very useful or enjoyable until the tech matures to a point where it can be fully wireless.
