Apologies, my OCD is screaming at me about the logic in this
Facts are facts, they exist objectively, they are independent of anyone's opinion or view.
Truth is somewhat subjective though, and tends to be a personal interpretation of things.
The offline mode not available is a loss to some people. I can't understand that. Maybe they could release the server-side software at some stage? Personally, I don't care too much for the offline version, but I can understand that people with bad internetz would want it.

I don't understand the negativity - if you're disappointed that's your choice. Move on. You spend £40 and it didn't work out for you - too bad.
I've wasted that much and more before now on PS3 games that I only played for an hour. I didn't badger people who happened to like that game on it's forums.
I haven't been counting, but I've had maybe 100 hours of enjoyment out of ED so far already, and I'm confident that this is only the very beginning. I went to see the Hobbit 3 last weekend - a ticket for that was £12 and it was 2 hours of my life I want back !
Tell you what - if ED isn't the game you want then here's a suggestion: go found a game development company. Hire some (great) developers. Hire some backend server guys too. Oh, and an ops team. Get some good conceptual artists. Graphic designers. Oh, someone to do the sound. Ah - maybe someone with astrophysics knowledge to build a world generation engine. Build the game that's better than ED. Do it.
That's not a hollow request - if you think you can do better than please, don't just complain - do something positive. Go out there and do it better. We're waiting to see what you build.

Tried many times, doesn't work as apparently everyone is fine with haters hi-jacking every positive thread they see. Glad David gave bloggers the finger and glad some of these cry-babies got it too. I feel sorry for the majority of the "offliners" for valid gripes but, these tools ruining every thread they deem positive needs to be dealt with by those that can.

Sorry, I should have been more specific but I was really just making a point. What I should have said, of course, was that the various statements presented as facts can be either true or untrue. Supporting evidence will determine the validity of such statements and the actual fact will become apparent.
I just get fed up with people being pigeon holed.
The idea someone can love the game AND have serious complaints seems hard to grasp. :-/

I pre-ordered the merc edition at the end of November, and I'm really enjoying playing the game!
Are you suggesting that I am hindering future development because I'm having fun?
Of course I would happily accept more ( I am very much looking forward to planetary landings in the future ), but years of online gaming have taught me to have realistic expectations, and to be prepared for features to be cut for all kinds of reasons.
Edit: I should point out that I've also reported several bugs since the 16th, before anybody decides I'm a mindless moron simply because I'm enjoying myself.

Oh come on! Even the terminally disappointed Rog (who has some legitimate complaints) can't be that down. The game (minus offline mode) is pretty polished, and the launch went pretty well. Some of the more vicious "refunder" posters claims of a giant scam, and fraud are shown to be rather overblown....Not to mention backers promised an offline mode, and refund seekers.
We needed more sycophantic posts though. Definitely not enough of 'em around here.

Hey, it's only the first week after release...
Hehehe, yes - it's just my OCD gets the better of me sometimes...
I'm glad that most of the stability problems which plagued the later gamma releases are no longer a problem. I've played the release version on-and-off for maybe 12 hours; while I've had quite a few extremely long SC transitions due to server lag, I've only been forcibly disconnected once. It would be nice to see some statistics regarding the number of active players. Is the current player pool sustainable?
I know, I even sent a message to the mods but it's pointless: companies think if they don't let trolls and haters destroy their game on their own boards, they aren't PC enough
But I suppose if we all report the hostile/offensive trolls they'll have to do something
