[Vdieo] Beyond "review"

Jenner

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.
The mining and exploration updates are phenomenal. Love 'em. Honestly I have not had so much fun in Elite in a while as I'm having with deep core mining and exploration.

The BGS bugs need to be ironed out asap, though.

The Gnosis fiasco was a fiasco, yes.

All in all I'm a happy camper this year. Very much looking forward to what Frontier have in store next. :)

Same here.
I gave up on pushing the BGS in the system I was in because of the bugs. But it's ok, because I'm having enough fun mining and exploring to ignore it until it gets fixed. :)

Void Opal Boulder XD. Maud love this update! See how happy she is? Why did I read it in her voice?

I would say I agree with Yamiks, but he was altogether too kind.

The BGS does not just need some bugs ironed out. It needs fundamental issues addressed immediately. The BGS is probably the most popular part of this game. Certainly the glacially slow-moving main story arc is not.

Missions you do for your faction actually hurt your faction's influence. Read that as many times as you have to to get it through your skull.
This is not just a mere bug to be ironed out. This is a deal breaker, straight up.

Smart companies build on the successful aspects of their games, not try to tear them down in order to coerce their players into some other particularly uninteresting aspect of grind. The Thargoids are uninteresting, and I can tell you precisely why. They are not a threat. Players get to decide if and when they interact with the Thargoids. No wonder no one cares. Driving players from an aspect of the game they do like is not going to make them start participating in the aspects you want them to. It is going to drive them to other games.

I'm not sure about that: 4,000 hrs for $50, not counting cosmetics.. maybe another $50, plus ALT account, $20.. Total $120 for 4,000 hrs? I dunno. Most games I pay $50 and get about 30-50 hrs of gameplay.

The concept of determining the worth of a game by time/price is still something I jut don't understand.

First time soneone accuse me of being too kind! =}

All N all the year was..well a GAP year where nothing much happened but whatever did happen was "of extremes" for the most part..still a gap year is a gap year and all that I SUSPECT was due to Jurrasic BORK release & development ..or the other project development

Clearly, I never claimed otherwise. But when a game has built in, less than enjoyable downtime inflating my playtime I am not going to reward it for that. To each their own I guess.

It's not the game that inflates your playtime, it's you. If you don't find something enjoyable, stop it. The thing that you don't understand about people who measure worth by time is that they actually enjoyed the time they spend.
