Version 1.06 relocked all my unlocked items

I unlocked everything in other game modes and started playing sandbox. Yesterday I installed new version 1.06, loaded my sandbox map and....suddenly all genomes were at 0% and most of the buildings were unresearched. Even though it was the same save file where everything was unlocked. So, for example, my lagoon with mosasaurus was still in its place, but I was suddenly unable to build more lagoons and hatch any dinosaurs.
I tried to create new sandbox map and there was everything ok, unlocked. Only my map created before 1.06 was broken. I was ed off and thought that I will have to build everything again...

Then I accidentally noticed there are new sandbox settings, like Research ON/OFF or Expeditions ON/OFF. I turned both to OFF and that fixed the problem, all was unlocked again, with the yellow dot in the corner (as all freshly unlocked items have). Oh god, I was so relieved.

If this is a bug, please fix it.
If it is a feature for some stupid reason, please change it. Most people won't notice new sandbox settings at all, and will be forced to replay their sandbox maps...

I have PS4 version.

Yes this was one of the most requested features from the community. To have everything unlocked for sandbox mode from the get go and add more settings. They have stated this change numerous places and you're pretty much the only person who for some reason didn't hear about this.

So no, this is not a bug. Now sandbox is the way it's supposed to be and will def not be changed back. The first rational thing to do is also check the settings if something is wrong, so I don't really see the problem here...

I didn't hear about this, because I don't follow "numerous places", I just launch the game from time to time. But my point was different, please read my post carefully. I unlocked everything before the patch (back in January), and this patch LOCKED everything again in my sandbox map. That would confuse everybody. Why didn't they implement the patch more smoothly so unlocked items remain unlocked, without digging in the settings menu?

Hi there! This is a feature. Players won't have to replay their Sandbox maps, they just have to turn Research and Expeditions OFF in Sandbox Settings, and they will have everything unlocked in Sandbox Mode automatically.

We got a great deal of feedback from a lot of players saying they wanted the option of all dinosaurs and buildings available in Sandbox Mode, so they could start a park completely from scratch, and we implemented this feature in our most recent major update.

I belive the issue is the Dev Teams understandng of what Sandbox is. Sandbox is by deffinition "The Game fully playable with everything onlocked and availible from the start of the game, allowing you to do everything and anything you want from the start". If you turn off Research and Espeditions, then those features are not available and thus are not "Sandbox" but instead "Build Mode". "Build Mode" is by deffitnition "Everything onlocked and available to build and place as wanted, but lacking the playable featrues of 'The Game'". Sandbox and Build Mode are two entirely different features.

What people want is "Sandbox" they want to play the game with all features and objects onlocked from the start, they want to do the research, but have it all available to them (unlocked) they want to build everything after researching it, they want the expiditions, the want to still "play" the game but with everything unlocked. What they have is missions, non-mission open maps, and Build Mode. They do not have "Sandbox" yet.

Yes, I understand that many people wanted an option to unlock everything in sandbox, and I thank you for that. My point was (and I'm writing it for 3rd time already) that it was absolutely not necessary to lock items again and force people to dig through settings and fix it. MOST PEOPLE DO NOT READ PATCH NOTES. As a developer, you might have distorted perspective, but really, people do not read it.
Anyway, thanks for your reply, and goodbye.

Because they had to implement this feature for all users. That means your old settings was saved, which again meant your stuff was locked. So in order to unlock everything, you have to use the new settings?

Thank you for the feedback. We will endeavor to make changes like this clearer in the future.

Please forgive me if I'm not understanding you correctly, but the game now supports both options you describe.

If you start a new Sandbox Mode map in Creative Mode, Research and Expeditions will be switched OFF, meaning you won't have to do Research and Expeditions in order to unlock dinosaurs for use in your Sandbox park. You can build a park using any building pieces or dinosaurs you'd like.

If you start a new Sandbox Mode park in Standard Mode, Research and Expeditions will be switched ON by default. You'll have a base level of buildings available to you, but you'll need to research the rest in order to expand your park. You will also need to research new dinosaur dig sites and send expeditions to them in order to get access to new dinosaur genomes.
