Version # - need understanding

Yes I am new.. and have been reading. I just bought the Premium Beta so please don't be to hard on me .. yet, give me a day or two.


Help me understand my version numbers, or point me to better "understanding " :)

When I load the client it says Alpha Phase 1.1 but on the launcher it says Alpha 3.4 is out.

Do I need to down load the newer version? If so, from where?

Should/will the launcher auto update?

Firstly Welcome.

As a Premium Backer like myself, you only have access to Alpha 1.1 . This was a little sweetener for Premium Beta Backers, so we could have a play with the basics.

Alpha 3.4 is the latest Alpha and that is available to Alpha Backers and above.

The loader is the same loader used by everyone, your account (which is linked to your pledge level) only gives you access to Alpha 1.1 .

Premium Beta proper gets released at the end of May.

One other thing in case you were wondering, regarding the Alpha releases:


Alpha 1.x - Single Player Combat
Alpha 2.x - Multiplayer Combat
Alpha 3.x - Docking and Outfitting
Alpha 4.x - Travel and Trading
