Very civilised ...

Agreed - I followed the Battlefield4 forum for a while. I was terrible. 99% of posts complaining about the netcode.

I'm going with the long in the tooth theory. Age may not give wisdom but it often at least gives manners. There seems to be a certain age at which being a jerk on the internet holds a great fascination.

I can give you another forum, where the age is not to take in consideration... there, just older (30-50) are making more 'patatoes' (so I don't get a warning this time :D ) , than anything else.

I just guess that the forum here, and the game, are just putting together interesting, entertaining, helpfull and nice guys (and ladies :D ).

From me also a "hudge thnks" to everybody, this forum rocks!

I think the forums are great here! Outside of the odd "I would rather the dev's worry about other things than bobble heads" and the poor taste Robin Williams joke... Best forum really I have seen in a long time.

What surprises me most (but not perhaps on reflection) is how damm *civilised* and polite these boards are...

I've been on quite a few forums (satellite TV, radio, phones and others) and these are by a long way the most helpful and constructive. So few trolls and so little flaming - and 99% of threads helpful. Amazing for the web!

I suppose it's down to the fact many / most of us have been around for a while and may be getting a bit long in the tooth (I know I am ...). Or just that we have a strong common interest?

Thoughts?

moderators are good at moderating haha

Try outing yourself as a PvP player and see how it works out for you...

But yeah, it is more civilized than your average gaming forum, and I quit those years ago since the crowd is just unbearable.

Way back last year sometime I remember making a thread about much the same - how mature the crowd here was in comparison with some other gaming forums. It's still the truth, too. It's a good bunch here.

Awe shucks Jenner... we love you and your 2 year old as well :)

Of all the forums I frequent, I must say that only the Bay12 forums gets close to being this civilized. Threads like the PvP one usually runs constantly and in numbers at many forums.

Agreed. Also I am pleasantly surprised at how both forums managed to cope with a huge increase in numbers without degenerating.
I have been sad to see some great startup indie game forums turn into a bickering mess when they get popular.

Also, the Bay12 Wiki is just amazing. Hope the E:D wiki follows in it's footsteps.
