Very confused about metric/imperial units in the zoopedia

So hear me out on this.

I have noticed an issue where the zoopedia would ignore the distance unit setting. I had it set to meters, and while the game would show the height of fences in meters when I was building them, all heights in the zoopedia were in feet. Very confused about this, I reluctantly decided to just switch to feet, as this would apply to all units. However, recently I decided to try to switch over as several updates have come out, and I discovered something very strange.
First of all, let me just say that the fact that the game completely ignores the setting is ridiculous for a game this popular and so long since release, it seems like a very basic thing to fix. Secondly, when I googled this problem I found a thread where a Frontier developer said that the setting was dependent on the location you are playing from. I am playing from the Netherlands, so I would assume the units to be metric, but this is not the case. I played around with some settings and suorisingly, setting the game language to Dutch (my native language) I got meters in the zoopedia. So for some weird reason, I can only have metric units in the zoopedia if I play with a language setting in a country that uses metric, even though there is a setting for this in the game, which it just completely ignores. This is incredibly annoying as I prefer playing with an English interface. Are there any plans to address this in the future? And if not, can someone please explain me why this would not be fixed?

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely adore this game. It just seems incredibly strange that a game of this caliber created by developers who clearly care a lot about their community would have such a simple but annoying bug. Add to that the fact that there is a setting that the game completely ignores, plus the fact that the only way to actually change it is to change the language you play in. It just seems absolutely ridiculous to me, so I was just wondering if there is any explanation for this.

Agreed, I'm in Canada (so also metric), yet a lot of the zoopedia info is in imperial (can't change the language because only know english...). So the whole "dependent on where you are playing" thing seems to be broken. This seems to mainly apply to barrier height, havent noticed if temperature is affected by it or not. And it also isnt every zoopedia entry that works this way, some barrier heights are metric, while others (generally those under 2m, so around 6ft) are in imperial.

Hmm that's quite interesting. I've seen people mention that some barrier heights are in imperial whereas others are in metric. For me all of the units are in imperial, which makes it even stranger since apparently not all units seem to be synchronized even if they are all about the same thing.
