Very disappointed about no Mamba or Phantom Black skins today :(

Where is the black paint for Mamba and Phantom?

Are you seriously telling us that we now have to wait 52 weeks?

Please reconsider before the end of the Black Friday sale IF at all possible. How hard can it be to paint bucket a few textures black?

It's this kind of stuff that makes people think you don't give a toss. Especially since you painted the stock ship gaudy red, we NEED other options AT LAUNCH (and please, tactical sucks balls, I want Black, ALL my ships are black). Red's alright, but it's not everyone's cup of tea.

What a missed opportunity.

Black paintjobs have only been available on Black Friday until the following Sunday or by purchasing the Horizons pre-order (I think that's what it was).

Therefore, it is a fair assumption that I will have to wait until next year to get black paint for a mamba or a pahntom? If you have something specific in mind that I might not be considering, pelase share!

And people are surprised at this?

I don't understand how it's not advantageous to offer them now, it's not like I'm going to buy any others.

I still believe Christmas countdown will have something if the game is released in time ...... imagine a Mamba or Phantom black wire frame job !

It is double edged sword - releasing skins for not releasing yet ships might tick some people off. It is also not a good show overall, although I might understand how it could make sense for some.

I also believe that if there are cool skins for Mamba and Phantom, they will show up during End of the year season count down sale. So there's still chance for them to offer good looking skins for new ships soon enough.

That's probably part of the reason.

You buy the Midnight paintjob you want and you're done.
This way, they have a heap of time to tempt you with a bunch of different things before they finally get around to the "good stuff".

It's no accident that they always offer the Vibrant, Tactical and Military packs first, then ramp up to stuff like the Horus, Synth and Squadron packs and then, finally, the limited-edition stuff.
They know a lot of players will just buy anything to personalise a new ship, then they'll also buy something better when it arrives and then, finally, buy the paintjob they really want when it becomes available.
End result: £8 income instead of £2.

Good on 'em if they do offer the BF paintjobs right away but I wouldn't be surprised if they don't.

Why would they think that? They can sell one Midnight Black paint for 2 bucks instead of 6 paints for 3 bucks. It would be way more profitable for them to sell the Black Friday paints.

They sell a solid black paint for 4 times the money of a multicolored paintjob.

Also Aashenfox I can understand you disappointment but FD (rightfully so in my opinion) see the paintjobs as a way to generate sufficient income to keep developing the game and keep it free of subscriptions.

When I buy these paintjobs I do it because I want to support the developers. It is like a donation with a sweet aftertaste.

For a minute I thought I was on the 'other game that cannot be named' site. I had £100 ready to buy my Mambas jpeg.

Come off it, we'll have the ships in one month and no black paintjobs for another 11. It surprises you that this would bother someone who wants his whole fleet black? Did you even see the thread I linked in the OP?

Try not be so sensationalist. It;s not like it's something 'they will add in future', it's already in beta.

There is no comparison between this and selling stuff that doesn't exist in a certain other franchise, but go on, make out as if we're crazy, if that floats your boat. :)
