Very Fast Moving Planets

Has anyone experienced very fast orbiting planets before? Here's an example:
With an orbital period of 0.4 days, I had to move at 146km/s in supercruise just to keep up with them. If I dropped out, they raced away. They're also a binary pair that are very close to one-another.

I've never experienced planetary motion before, so I'm surprised. Is this new, or have I just not noticed it in almost 3000 systems?

Clearly someone needs to chart a course for Mitterand Hollow in the Epsilon Indi system

All bodies in Elite have properly simulated orbital mechanics. (Which may or may not be physically possible in the real world....)

Yeah, my first trip to Mitterand Hollow I approached from the wrong side and chased it for a while until I realized I was never gonna catch it and turned around to wait for it to hit me.

I have seen other fast moving orbits in other places also, though I've yet to encounter anything as fast as Mitterand Hollow.
Monde de la Mort comes close at it's periastron.

Ah, okay, I see.
Anyone want to wait 79,800 days to make sure?

EDIT: Wait! Am I missing something? A quick google search says that Sedna's orbital period is more than 10,000 years...or 3,650,000 days. Nothing close to the 79,800 the game displays. Huh?

I love Mitterand Hollow!

I shot this video there the other day.
